January 2023 Update

A message from VESA President Bruce Gregory

We at Vocational Education Support Africa are thankful for a fruitful 2022.  Please visit follow this link Historical Timeline VESA of the historical timeline of events that have shaped our relationship with our first ever supported school, Betty Memorial Institute (BMI).

Next up is the introduction of VESA Teacher certification.  The criteria for this will be introduced to the teachers at BMI in February during our 2023 Dry Season Teacher Institute.  Teachers who have been through VESA training and have taught at least one full academic year are eligible to begin the certifying process.

Thanks to Assistant Professor David Alban, PhD., Ferris State University, for his counsel in shaping this process.

Many thanks to all who donated towards the purchase of five sewing machines for the Domestic Science Tailoring program.  The machines are getting serious workouts as can be seen in the accompanying photo.

We look forward to the continual adding of vocational disciplines to Betty Memorial Institute Vocational Education curriculum.

Be watching for a major fundraising event to be held summer 2023 (late June/early July) in Michigan at 2Hats Ranch.  Get yourself and your shotgun ready to compete in a Sporting Clays team tournament.  It will be fun and a fruitful way to raise money for the BMI Vocational Center.  More information to follow.

Take care and may God bless!
