The Approaching SAM! - February 2022 Update

Tent the team will be sleeping in!

The SAM is less than a week out!

Team members are aggressively working on sled setups, hitches, and ways to shave weight for this eight day man-haul through the snow.

The snow pack has been too little in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula along the path originally planned.  A decision was made to move The SAM to the Upper Peninsula or the UP.  The new course will begin in Naubinway on Lake Michigan shore and meander north to Grand Marais.  From Grand Marais The SAM heads west towards Munising.  Once in Munising the team will head either west towards Marquette, south towards Manistique, OR finish in Munising!

The course will be somewhat shorter than originally planned, but skiers will be hauling more gear and supplies, namely food, water and fuel.  We’re trading distance for a more self-supported venture, but we still very much need YOUR support!
